Wasabi Walkthrough
Wasabi is a Flash game that takes the gameplay formula of a tycoon game and blends it with the controls of a platforming game. This management game features an innovative control scheme, sprite graphics, and addictive, albeit repetitive, gameplay.
The objective of Wasabi is to raise your sushi bar's rating from zero stars to three. In order to accomplish this goal, you will have to keep customers rolling in; to keep customers rolling in, you will have to keep your supply of fish and vegetables up. The game starts with a tutorial which I advise you to pay close attention to if this is your first time playing the game. If you have experience playing this management game, you may skip the tutorial by pressing the shift key together with the X key at the start of the game. Unfortunately, your progress is not saved in this tycoon game, so you will have to complete it in one session.
Unlike most tycoon games, Wasabi is not controlled by using a graphical user interface. Instead, the keyboard is used to control your character, similar to a platform game. Use the left and right arrow keys to move and the up arrow key to jump. To buy items in the shop, plots of land, and other things, jump under the appropriate box (similar to a Super Mario game). Use the X key to interact with objects in the game and the C key to advance dialogue.
The most important task in Wasabi is managing your level of fish and vegetables. As customers roll in, they will eat your supply. You will have to plant veggies and fish to keep your supplies up. Upgrading your fishing pole will cause fish that are caught to provide more meat, so I advise doing so as soon as possible. More expensive seeds grow vegetables that provide a greater harvest, but take more water, and thus, more time to grow. If you have a lot of customers queued up, it may be best to fill your farm plots with radishes, but if there are few customers, you will have time to grow lettuce.
Wasabi is a management game that players of all ages can enjoy. If you do not enjoy repetition, however, this tycoon game may bore you.
