Warfare 1917 Walkthrough
Warfare 1917 is a strategy game that puts you in the role of a British commander facing off against the Germans during the First World War. Warfare 1917 features detailed graphics, outstanding audio, various upgrades, and addicting gameplay.
The objective of Warfare 1917 is to win the battlefield by either taking the field or wearing down the morale of your enemies. You must be careful not to allow your enemies to do the same to you in this war game, however. The battlefield in conquered by moving a squad of soldiers to the opposite end of the battlefield. Morale is raised by killing enemies, and lowered by taking casualties.
In order to win in Warfare 1917, you must use the proper units for the job. Units are trained by clicking on the appropriate portrait in the lower-left of the game's interface. There is no monetary cost to training units in this strategy game, but training units takes time. Lower-tier units may be trained much faster than upper-tier units, but upper-tier units have special properties that make them more valuable on the field. Hover your mouse over an icon to see the strengths and weaknesses of that particular unit.
Along with the various units of your army, you may also call in fire support. Fire support can be devastating in clearing out enemy trenches or as a last-ditch effort to mount a defensive. As you progress through this war game, new methods of fire support will become available. Fire support takes a long time to recharge, so you don't want to waste it!
Warfare 1917 gives you limited control over the movements of your troops. You can order them out of trenches, but once they are in the field they will keep moving forward until they reach a trench, the end of the battlefield, or meet their death. You may also lock trenches to prevent your troops from stopping in them, which will force them to continue charging forward. Trenches can support three squads. A trench that is already containing three squads will behave like a locked trench.
If you are an offensive player, you will want to win by taking the field. To take the field, you must use artillery to bombard enemy trenches, as well as large numbers of riflemen and assault troops to clean up. I still recommend keeping one or two machine gun squads in your rearmost trench to defend against enemy charges. Launching offensives against heavily-fortified enemies is suicidal and will take a huge toll on morale in this strategy game, so be careful.
If you are a defensive player, you will want to win battles in Warfare 1917 by wearing away your enemy's morale. Using entrenched machine gun and sniper squads along with artillery is the way to beat your foes. Just be careful because one well-placed enemy artillery shell can ruin all of your plans. Both methods of warfare have their strengths and weaknesses, so use the battle plan that best suits you. I have found that a mixture of offensive and defensive tactics work best for me in this strategy game.
A final piece of advice I would like to give regards upgrades. Upgrade points are rewarded after each battle in Warfare 1917. I advise upgrading your troops' morale and training time first if you choose an offensive play style in order to field troops faster and take less of a penalty to morale when casualties are taken. If you are a defensive player, I advise upgrading your troops' attacking power first so that they may massacre the enemy advance.
Warfare 1917 is a brilliant war game that will put your tactical skills to the test. Give Jerry what for in Warfare 1917!
