Sweatshop Walkthrough

In real life, outsourcing and sweatshops are no laughing matter. In Sweatshop, a humorous and thought-provoking strategy game by Littleloud, they can be! Sweatshop features cute graphics, 8-bit music, and a simple point-and-click interface.

The objective of Sweatshop is to make money. You can be a benevolent foreman and look after the well-being of your workers, but if you want to make more money, you must work them to the bone! Each level has a certain quota of items to produce. Produce enough items, and you will progress to the next level of this strategy game, but if too many unfinished products make it to the end of the assembly line, then it's game over for you! Your progress is saved at the end of each stage, so you can continue from where you left off if you need to take a break. You get to take a break, but remember that children in sweatshops rarely do!

After you have selected a save slot to store your progress, Sweatshop begins with a tutorial to teach you how to play. I advise you to pay attention to the tutorial, since it will help you to learn the controls of this strategy game. Click and drag workers from the upper-left corner of the screen and place them on the assembly line. It costs money to hire workers, so keep an eye on your cash. If you hire too few workers, however, you will not get the orders completed. Hire enough workers to get the items assembled before they reach the end of the assembly line, but keep in mind that profits are the goal of this strategy game!

Hiring the right workers for the job is crucial in Sweatshop. Hire hat makers to make hates, shirt makers to make shirts, and so on. All of the workers can fabricate the different types of items, but having the right workers to make the necessary items will make things faster and more cost-effective.

Sweatshop is an entertaining and educational strategy game that exposes the hardships of sweatshop labor without being too preachy about it. Try to have fun while keeping in mind that children are laboring in third world countries to make your clothing while you get to sit back and play this strategy game!
