mini Tower Defence (mTD) Walkthrough

While the premise behind Mini Tower Defence (mTD) isn't terribly uncommon in the world of tower defense strategy games and the game play is quite similar to a lot of the competing games in the genre, this game manages to avoid feeling like more of the same by offering plenty of upgrades and lots of action. The premise is pretty basic tower defense game stuff; your base is under attack and you need to defend it from the waves of attacking enemy tanks. To do this, you'll need to defend defense towers capable of protecting your base and upgrade those towers to get the most possible benefit from them without completely depleting your resources, rendering yourself unable to protect yourself down the line. As with most tower defense strategy games, the enemy tanks that attack you get stronger, faster and harder to kill as the game progresses so you need to be sure you're prepared. As simple as it sounds, this game is anything but and is sure to keep you on your toes wave after wave.

What really sets Mini Tower Defence (mTD) apart from the rest of the tower defense strategy games out there that follow this same basic premise is the fact that you will need both skill points and money to do well in this game. You'll use the money you earn to purchase towers and to upgrade those towers, but you'll also get skill points that will make your weapons more effective and affordable. If you use a good strategy and plan things out well, you can combine these two factors to create a strong, nearly unbeatable line of defense that will cut enemies down to size. Finding the right strategy will take some time and patience, but with a little practice, you'll be able to do well in this game.

The upgrades you can buy with your upgrade points between levels in Mini Tower Defence (mTD) are quite a bit different than what you have likely come to expect in a tower defense strategy game. Instead of simply offering the standard upgrades to your weapons and your base, you can buy upgrades to increase the amount of money you start a level with, decrease the price of towers, increase the amount of money you get for each enemy tank you destroy, increase the amount of damage your towers do, improve on the freeze tower in just about every way and improve your bombs. All of these upgrades are vital for surviving in this game but be sure you purchase them wisely as you only earn upgrade points when you complete a level and are only able to spend them between levels. Don't waste them on something you don't need. For example, if you don't have any freeze towers in place and don't think you'll add one in the next level, buying upgrades for them would be a bit silly. Focus on upgrades that will give you more money, at least in the beginning of the game. You'll get a lot of use out of them.

Newcomers to tower defense strategy games are likely going to have a hard time with Mini Tower Defence (mTD) in the beginning. There is a lot of information to take in and a lot to think about when you're planning your defense. As newcomers progress, though, they'll learn from their mistakes and be able to plan a smarter strategy in later levels in the game. The great thing is that with this game, mistakes are actually fairly rewarding. They give you the chance to see what works and what doesn't work then make the appropriate adjustments to your strategy. For example, while it's tempting to use bombs on your enemies, you must be absolutely positive it's the best move and that you're going to using it at the right time. If an enemy escapes your bomb blast, you'll fail the mission and have to try again.

For high score enthusiasts, Mini Tower Defence (mTD) will be especially appealing as instead of simply rewarding you for passing the level and surviving a mission, you're also encouraged to try for an expert score. The best way to get a high score is to build a line of defense that is strong enough to allow you to send the majority of the waves in each level early. In order for you to be able to do that successfully, you need to be sure you have enough towers in place that are strong enough to take out the majority of the enemy tanks in a wave. You're able to place more towers as the wave progresses, but if you don't have enough already in place, you're going to be playing catch up through most of the wave which will only make sending the next wave early more difficult.

The best way to do well in Mini Tower Defence (mTD) is to focus on your money and your upgrade points. Use your upgrade points to increase the amount of money you begin the level with to start then focus on increasing the amount of money you get for each kill. The next upgrade you should go for is decreasing the price of towers and finally, increase the damage delivered by your towers. Getting more money when you start will allow you to place and upgrade more towers. Upgrading the towers you place is vital in this game. Instead of focusing on buying more advanced towers in the beginning of a level, work on buying a few basic towers and upgrading those. If you place them right, you should be able to hold off the enemies in the first few levels with little difficulty; allowing you to save money for the more advanced towers you'll need to purchase in later levels of the game.

Overall, Mini Tower Defence (mTD) doesn't exactly break any new ground but the additions it makes and the different types of upgrades make it a game well worth checking out. If you're a newcomer to tower defense strategy games, you're likely going to have a bit of a hard time getting through the first few levels, but with patience and by learning from your mistakes you should be able to do well. It is entirely possible to get an expect score in every single level of this game. It takes careful planning and a solid strategy but if you place your towers right, you should be able to do it. Place your towers beside curves in the path. This will allow you to hit enemies on multiple parts of the path and allow you to reduce the number of towers you need to purchase. Remember to upgrade and you'll do fine.
