Blob Tower Defence Walkthrough

Blob Tower Defence is an addictive and engrossing tower defense strategy game that chooses to do things a little differently. Instead of presenting you with a map and a selection of turrets you can build, this game gives you blocks (Blob Towers) and you build the tower yourself. Each type of Blob Tower has a special ability you can use to your advantage but will also cost a different amount of money. The premise of the game is really what makes it so unique. It isn't really like any other tower defense strategy game online. You have five foundation slots where you can place your Blob Towers to begin building your tower. Once you've placed a Blob Tower in one of the five foundation slots, you can place another Blob Tower on top of it. You can build up on a foundation Tower without filling all five slots. That's important to remember. If you have a strong column on the foundation on the far right, you can make it through the first several waves without moving over to the other foundation slots. Once you've placed a tower, you are able to upgrade it. Your goal is pretty simple: kill all of the attacking enemies before they can reach the left side of the screen. You only have twenty lives and will lose one life for every enemy you allow to pass. If you don't build a strong enough tower, it doesn't take long to go through all of those lives.

The four basic Blob Towers in Blob Tower Defence are the purple 'Normal Tower', the blue 'Fast Tower', the green 'Slow Down Tower' and the yellow 'Sniper Tower'. Each different type of tower can be upgraded to level five increasing how much damage the tower inflicts on enemies and how fast the tower fires. It's important to upgrade towers although you can get through the first few waves without them. Later on in the game, though, when enemies get faster and are harder to take out, you'll need those upgrades. The Fast Tower is really the most beneficial tower throughout the beginning of the game; even more so when upgraded. It delivers a significant amount of damage and fires quickly. Place a few of these in the column on the far right, and you'll be able to cut down the first few waves of enemies before they can even reach your tower. This allows you to accumulate money for upgrades and new towers. As you progress, though, and the game gets harder, you'll need to upgrade those towers and add new ones. Try building up the right column completely with Fast Towers, upgrade those to at least level three and then start building up the column on the far left; also with fast towers. Upgrade those and you'll have a solid and effective basic defense set up. When things start getting harder again, build up the middle column. Throw in a few slow down towers to help slow your enemies and make them easier to take out. Upgrade the towers in the center and wait as long as you can to start adding towers to the other columns. That extra distance your enemy has to travel will give you more of a chance to take them out. Adding towers in the two remaining columns reduces the distance enemies have to travel to safety and therefore, reduces the opportunity you have to destroy them.

The game screen in Blob Tower Defence is very basic. You don't have to worry about all of the extra information on your screen you need to process when you play other tower defense strategy games. There's nothing complicated about the game interface. Fitting as there's really nothing complicated about this game. At the top left of the screen, you have the start button. Once you have the towers you want to build in place, hit the start button to release your enemies. You'll only hit start once. After that point, the word start will be replaced by information about what wave you're on or how long it will be until the next wave attacks. You can click this button to release the next wave early if you feel confident you have enough towers in place to handle a new wave of enemies or if you don't have the money available to build or upgrade towers. In the center of the top of the screen, you have the types of towers you can build. There are four different Blob Towers; each one offering something different. We'll talk more about those in a moment. At the top right of the screen you have your life and money information. Each time you destroy an enemy, you will be rewarded with money you can use to buy or upgrade towers. That money is shown here. Each time you allow an enemy to reach safety through the left side of the screen, you will lose a life. That will be reflected in the lives section. Below your money and your lives on the right side of the screen, you'll see your information panel. Your information panel shows you the basic stats about a tower you want to build or about a tower you have built. Hover your mouse over one of the tower options at the top of the screen to learn more about it.

Overall, Blob Tower Defence is an excellent tower defense strategy game that will challenge you to stay one step ahead of your enemies at all times. The only way to do well in this game is to formulate a good strategy and stick to it. Don't spend more money on towers than you have to. It's a good idea to let your money accumulate so you can afford upgrades or new towers when you need them later in the game when things get more difficult. You can add towers and upgrade existing towers during an attack so if you find the towers you have aren't enough to take out the enemies that are attacking, add more or upgrade the ones you have. In most cases, it's better to upgrade existing towers than to buy new towers that will take up room. The real fun in this game is trying to get your name on the leader board. If you take the time to mount a good strong defense and remember the importance of upgrades, you should be able to do just that eventually. It might take a little practice, but when the game is this much fun, practice is no problem at all. Both new or experienced tower defense strategy game players are going to have a good time with this one. It's a great game everyone should try at least once.
